Factory Analysis

The following is an analysis of factory grades achieved by six farmers since the start of the year. The grades were then compared against the new qualifying grading scheme released by Slaney meats on the 1^st of November. The figures show out of the 229 cattle slaughtered 171 of those would qualify for the new price of €4.10/kg. This is an average of 75%. The majority of cattle that didn’t qualify were of a lesser standard, such as O grades. However some cattle didn’t qualify as they were too heavy such as R 4+ or R5-. As can be seen in the table cattle falling within the coloured boxes qualify for the new price. These grades include all R3 and U3’s R4- , R4=, U4- and U4=.
